Our first Sonoma County zinfandel since 1998, this wine is comprised of selected barrels of our Carlisle Vineyard Zinfandel, Dry Creek Zinfandel, and bits of Dry Creek Carignane and Grenache. Our goal was to create a Zinfandel that truly captures the essence of old-vine Zin while maintaining a wallet-friendly price. We think we've succeeded, so much so that we feel this wine rivals our more expensive offerings.

Sonoma County Zinfandel

Tasting Note:

Dark ruby in color. Bright, high toned aromas of red cherry and plum. Notes of allspice. On the palate, incredibly rich and unctuous. Chocolate covered cherries come to mind. Something quite sexy and decadent about this wine. Full-bodied but ample acidity keeps the palate fresh. Much more than an ordinary "county" appellation blend. This is serious stuff!!! Drink from release to 7 years from vintage date. (MRO - 11/2/02)
