t’s back and it’s never been better! Palisades Vineyard is certainly one the greatest Petite Sirah vineyards in the state, having a tradition of growing the variety since the late 1800s. Picked September 30th, the must was cold soaked for five days prior to fermentation to extract as much flavor and color as possible. Twenty days on the skins. All French oak but only 20% new. Bottled unfined and unfiltered.

Napa Valley "Palisades Vineyard" Petite Sirah

Tasting Note:

Opaque, neon black-purple. The color alone is a turn-on! Deep, concentrated aromas of blackberry, blueberry, and white chocolate. On the palate, mouth-coating black and blue fruits are supported by fine-grained tannins. Powerful yet quite elegant, especially for the variety. Easily one of the finest Petite Sirah we’ve produced. Enjoyable now but will age well. Drink 2015 through 2025. (MRO – 3/15/11)
