Generally speaking, our intention in vinifying Petite Sirah from Dry Creek is to use it in blending in our Dry Creek Valley and/or Sonoma County Zinfandels. But if we can’t use it all up, we are always thrilled to have a bit leftover for it never disappoints. In fact, this 2009 may be the finest Dry Creek Petite Sirah we have bottled! Aged in all neutral oak and bottled unfined and unfiltered.

Dry Creek Valley Petite Sirah

Tasting Note:

Opaque black-purple. Even the bubbles are black! Gorgeous aromas of blueberry preserves, licorice, white pepper, and violets are at once deep yet effusive. Rich and concentrated on the palate, flavors of blackberry, blueberry, and earth build to a crescendo in the finish. Certainly one the most harmonious and suave Pets I’ve had the pleasure to drink. If you enjoy your wines young, drink now. Otherwise, give it a few years in bottle and enjoy through 2020. (MRO – 09/25/11)
