As usual, the vines planted in 1885 at Teldeschi Ranch serve as the base for this wine.  Picked between September 30th and October 6th (three weeks later than usual), each lot was immaculate with very little dehydration and higher than normal acidity.  In fact, the fruit was so outstanding that for the first time ever, we decided to blend no Petite Sirah into this wine.  Aged in all French oak, 28% new. Bottled unfined and unfiltered.

Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel

Tasting Note:

Medium-dark ruby garnet.  Fragrant scents of red cherries, iron, and spring flowers.  Classic Dry Creek Zin!  On the palate, absolutely seamless with plenty of delicious lip-smacking cherry fruit.  As with many of our wines in 2005, easily my favorite Dry Creek Zinfandel to date.  Drink mid-2008 through 2012.  (MRO – 3/1/07)
